Ötzi, the famous glacier mummy, found his home here. The South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology is known worldwide for exhibiting the Iceman and all of his equipment.

The museum is also an exhibition venue for regional history from the Palaeolithic to the Carolingian period and organises interesting special exhibitions
